Spin Magazine
Sunday, August 24th, 2008

Many thanks to my good friend, Rikki, for scanning an article in the September issue of SPIN for me and for also typing up the quotes from the article, which you can find here. The scan can be found in the gallery here.

I also added a couple new photos from the Comic-Con panel and signing thanks to heyybrother and hamish.

I meant to mention this a couple days ago, but right now on HBO, there is a Making True Blood special airing and also one on Alan Ball’s POV. Click on the respective titles for times, they are both also available for viewing on HBO On Demand, as well as another special called Invitation To The Set. For those of you without HBO are in luck because the network has added Alan’s Ball POV and the Invitation To The Set to their YouTube account.

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

From ShowbizSpy:

X-MEN star ANNA PAQUIN has treated herself to a new bicycle after learning to ride.

The young actress has splashed out on a pink Hello Kitty Retro Cruiser after realising her childhood dream of pedalling.

She says, “I just learned to ride recently. I guess because I was the youngest of three and my parents were really busy, they just assumed that I already knew. Also, we lived on a hill.”

Paquin Takes on the Vampires
Sunday, August 17th, 2008

From WWD:

WWD: What attracted you to this part in the first place?

Anna Paquin: Well, this whole world is so kind of exciting and unusual as far as the supernatural elements but also has so much in it that’s really emotionally poignant and the characters are so strong and so well drawn out. My character is so tough but she’s sweet and she’s innocent, but she’s kind of worldly. There’s just so much to it that it does not get boring.

Anna Paquin Talks About New HBO Series ‘True Blood’
Monday, August 11th, 2008

From Starpulse:

Mixing romance, suspense, mystery and humor, the new HBO series True Blood kicks off its 12-episode season Sunday, Sept. 7 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT). Starring Academy Award® winner Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, the series is createdand executive produced by Alan Ball (creator of the Emmy®-winning HBO series “Six Feet Under”), who also wrote the first three episodes and directs two episodes of the show, which is based on the popular Sookie Stackhouse novels of Charlaine Harris.

Q: How did you get involved with ‘True Blood?’ Had you been considering getting into television?

Anna Paquin: I had been thinking that it would be really awesome to be a part of one of those really good HBO shows, and then this showed up. I thought, “There’s no way in hell I’m gonna get this, but I’ll give it my best.” There’s nothing more exciting as an actor than getting to do something that you’re not entirely sure that anyone would let you do, and getting to take a big jump in a completely different direction. The brightness of my character’s personality is so refreshing; it doesn’t mean she doesn’t deal with heavy issues, or doesn’t have hardship. It just means that she’s not dealing with it by introverting and becoming this dark, tortured person, which I’ve done a lot of.

Trick ‘R Treat Still Not At Warner Bros.
Friday, August 8th, 2008

From ShockTillYouDrop:

ETA 8/12:

Update: We’ve been informed by our WB rep that there was an internal error and the film should not have been placed on the list. So, you can completely dismiss the story below.

Yep, it appears Mike Dougherty’s Trick ‘r Treat still resides within the halls of Warner Bros. Word came down via some updated publicity info sent out to the press this afternoon. This contradicts previous reports here on Shock, and elsewhere, that the film was “dumped” by the studio. So, the good news is: The film still has a home. The question still remains, however: When is it coming out?

That’s the great mystery of the universe.

Written and directed by Dougherty, this patchwork of horror stories woven around Halloween stars Brian Cox, Leslie Bibb, Dylan Baker, Rochelle Aytes, Anna Paquin, Moneca Delain and Lauren Lee Smith.
